Public Relations for The White House

Public Relations for the Executive Branch of the United States Government are not easy, yet they are paramount to delivering the right message to the American People. Since all politics are local and there are so many variables and interests out there the Public Relations Programs must be somewhat of an overview as not to alienate any group of citizenry or they will feel slighted and disrespected and then want revenge.

Additionally the message to the American People must be carefully constructed because it can be misinterpreted by foreign media and taken out of context and use to hurt our nations by a media hit from another nation, group of nations or block of nations. This can cause issues with trade wars, conflicts or negative comments in places like the United Nations.

If foreign interests purposefully take things out of context in order to degrade the United States and the leadership they can hurt the Nations reputation throughout the world. You can see how hard it is to run a decent public relations program. However, public relations are very important otherwise the citizens start to allow the media to shape their opinion of the Executive Branch and that can often cause them to lose faith in our government.

Luckily in the United States our populations are smarter and savvy in many regards than those so easily led astray in other nations in many ways. And in other ways like all human populations they are somewhat naïve in the overall total game of how things work in civilizations around the world how everything is inter-connected. So any public relations programs needs to take this into account and carefully work to explain some of the complexity of the decisions being made while sticking to an over all simple message which is preferred by all. Please consider all this in 2006.
